Founding Story & Commitment to Careful Writing

Vitalis Edge started because two of us, working separately in health journalism, kept running into the same problem: most men's health content online was either recycled from other sites with no real sourcing, or written to sell a product first and inform second. We wanted a place that did the opposite, even if it meant publishing less often.

That meant setting up a process before we published anything: a writer researches and drafts, a second editor checks the draft against its sources, and nothing goes live until that check is done. We also set a schedule to revisit older articles, since guidance changes and an article written two years ago can quietly become out of date.

On the reader side, the site stays free to read, with no paywall and no sponsored placements dressed up as articles. If something we've written turns out to be wrong, we'd rather hear about it directly and fix it with a visible note than leave it unchanged.

Editorial Independence

No advertiser or contributor gets a say in what we write or how it's worded. If a piece doesn't hold up, it doesn't run, regardless of who suggested it.

Plain Language

We assume readers are busy, not uninformed, so we explain terms the first time they appear instead of leaving them unexplained.

Accountability

Every article carries a named writer and reviewing editor, and every correction is logged with a date instead of quietly edited away.

Our Editorial Principles

1

Independent Ownership

Vitalis Edge is not owned by a supplement brand, gym chain or pharmaceutical company, so nothing we publish is written to sell you something.

2

No Sponsored Rankings

We don't accept payment to rank a product, brand or programme higher in an article.

3

Named Writers Only

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote or reviewed it, never an anonymous byline.

4

Public Correction Log

When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change at the bottom of the article instead of quietly editing it away.

5

Direct Reader Contact

Readers can email the editorial team directly with a question, correction or topic request and get a reply from a person, not a bot.

6

Plain Language First

We write for someone reading on a phone during a break, not for another editor, so sentences stay short and jargon gets defined.

How We Keep Articles Accurate

Every draft is checked against its cited sources by a second editor before publishing, and older articles are rechecked on a set schedule as guidance changes. When something needs correcting, we update it and add a dated note explaining what changed.
